Hey Samo Famo! Hope you all are staying safe out there and staying sane despite these WILD times. In light of recent events, we wanted to share a few announcements and provide some reassurance. To be honest, we wanted to share these updates sooner than later, but are still recovering from Lisbon + wanted to get a better grasp of the situation at hand before coming out and providing color.
That said, let's dig in!
SAMO On Gemini Not Working?
We're seeing a lot of people ask about this. The short of it is that we're in the process of securing a new market maker (MM) for Gemini + other exchanges. Because we currently do not have a MM, Gemini (and only Gemini) has suspended trading for the time being. Once we find a new MM, it'll be turned back on.
This is NOT a big deal. However, it'll take a second to remedy since there is legal paperwork associated with getting a new MM. That said, PLEASE be sure to shoot down any nonsense/FUD claiming that this is a reflection on the Samoyedcoin project itself. That's absolutely NOT true.
The Samoyedcoin Brand: Are We Making Changes?
Most of you know the origin stories of SAMO and funny enough, some of you don't. However, we want to let people know that despite recent events, we don't believe anything has changed. Our vision, mission, and strategy remains the same.
The SAMO Vision: Accelerate the adoption, development, and growth of the Solana ecosystem.
The SAMO Mission: Establish Samoyedcoin as Solana’s ambassador by pushing the limits of what's possible for a Web 3.0 community.
The SAMO Strategy: Provide market participants with the knowledge, resources, and community to better navigate Solana, crypto, and life.
In other words, being the ambassador of Solana has and will remain our core focus. Much like SOL, we've matured, evolved, and become more than what we were on Day 1. Be that as it may, we plan on making a number of adjustments over time to ensure people know what we represent and what we're all about. As we see it, the goal posts haven't changed, just the path to getting there.
Sooooo, How Was Lisbon?!
ICYMI, myself, gh◎st.the.sammie ︱℠⋑∧⊙︱, and SwickSamo were in Lisbon last week at Breakpoint. We had a number of activations and attended a number of events that allowed for us to connect with some of the biggest names in the space.
Here's a lil bit of a glimpse of what all that went down:
• We brought in a real life Samoyed and partnered with ORCA and STEP to giveaway TONS of merch. As a matter of fact, we handed out more than 1,000 SAMO stickers and gave away more than 200 t-shirts! Needless to say, this was the talk of the town at Breakpoint.
• We partnered with Cupcake and hid bones throughout the conference center where people who found them and scanned the RFID sticker w/ their phone recieved $70 worth of SAMO.
• We participated in the Bear Market Rally held by Nations, thus putting us at the front of the stage of one of the largest events at Breakpoint!
• Had meetings and chats with the largest players in the ecosystem, thereby strengthening existing relationships and establishing new ones that'll open new doors for us.
Needless to say, THERE WAS A TON that happened and the positive feedback we received regarding the Samoyedcoin brand, community, SamoDAO launch, and activations has us SOOOO bullish on our future. Sure, market conditions have changed.... but nothing is going to take away from the fact that the ecosystem knows who were are, where we stand, and what we're about.
SAMO is Solana's Top Dog, that's fact.

PLEASE use a Ledger or Hardware device moving forward. I feel like I've said this many of times but - NOT your keys, NOT your crypto. If you buy on an exchange please move it to a Ledger device after to store your crypto on. This FTX situation is just one example of why this is important. If you need help doing so checkout these guides to help you connect your wallet to a hardware device like Ledger, this is the BEST method to store crypto and you actually own your keys and crypto with this method:
Ledger Live supports Solana. Unfortunately you can't view SPLs such as Samo, Orca, Step, etc. within Ledger Live but you can view them in your web wallet (Phantom). It may seem a bit strange but think of your Phantom wallet as an access way into your Ledger wallet. They share the same address but you can only make swaps/withdrawals when you approve it on your hardware device itself.

If you don't have a ledger and want one please buy it only from the website itself and not a 3rd party. The official Ledger Website should be the only place you purchase one:
